Hucknall 2 Hilton Harriers 0
After Shaun Smiths much publicised move to Sherwood the town line up had Joe Ashurst playing in a central striker role with Crawford and Reittie on the flanks. The central defensive duties had David Leak and Joe Atkinson together again. Town had most of the play first half but were denied by the excellent Hilton keeper several times.  The second half carried on in the same manner but the strong wind played its part in disrupting play. The introduction of Ben Waplington added impetus to towns attacking and it was Waplington who capitalised on a rare defensive mistake. The defender misjudging a header which allowed Waplington to sneak in behind before picking out Jamie Crawford who smacked the ball home. Hilton were stung by the goal and town had their best spell of the match which brought a second goal eight minutes later. The captain Joe Atkinson also finishing with a well placed shot. Town controlled the rest of the game also hitting the post with a long range effort. The defence held firm and in truth Randall had little to do in the home goal.
This win puts Hucknall firmly in the mix with Eastwoods victory over Pinxton in the days big game tightening things at the top. Sherwood won 1 nil at home to Keyworth with the goal inevitably coming from Shaun Smith. Sherwood are now the only unbeaten team in the south division.

we're still yellow and we're still alive......
