Re: CMLS South Normanton at home Saturday

Result Hucknall Town 1 South Normanton 0
A last gasp goal from Devante Reittie was just enough to see off a South Normanton side who had a game plan and stuck to it resolutely. The first half was pretty even early doors with the away side having the first chance hitting the bar from a free kick. Hucknall created a couple of half chances before Jamie Crawford spurned a good opportunity when through with just the keeper to beat. Ashurst then produced a really good cross but no one was on the end of it. South Normanton then had the ball in the net but the linesmans flag had already been raised.
Second half carried on in a similar vein with Hucknall trying to break down a dogged defence which slowed play down at every opportunity. David Leak 's header went just wide and the same player also shaved the top of the crossbar from five yards. A South Normanton defender nearly scored a spectacular own goal hitting the post and then the away keeper produced a class save from a deflected effort. Danso then had two efforts which should have resulted in goals, a back heeled effort that went into the side netting and a shot ballooned over from five yards which landed in the lake district. Hucknall could have been forgiven for thinking it wasn't to be and I think in the past it would have been a draw but Hucknall kept going and in the 4th minute of added time (think back to all the time wasted on throw ins etc) Reittie fired home sparking mass celebrations for the home side and sheer frustration for the away side. There was still time for Reittie to add to his goal but spurned a one on one with the keeper with the last kick of the game. The home supporters recognising the effort the away side had given applauded both teams off the pitch. This could prove to be a very valuable three points at the end of the season.

we're still yellow and we're still alive......
